Not even perlite can disrupt the bond between two Gemini particles, but it can certainly cause interference with most modern sensors. A Centrian on patrol in his big bad CA50 Strata was attacked by a little DS3 Spook one day. The Spook plinked his hull and raced for the nearest star. The Centrian couldn't stop laughing as the Spook turned into a speck in the sun's corona. "Smarter to fly straight to hell than to stay and fight me," he'd convinced himself, when sensors finally alerted him to the presence of a tiny Gemini Beacon on the aft section of his hull. In a flash he found himself in the vice grip of the star's gravity well, streaking towards the roiling surface. His smile melted, and a moment later, so did his ship.
