Energy is the main resource required by your ship, used to power engines and use most abilities, represented by a blue bar in the Top right of UI and reticle.

Energy is consumed and regenerates over time.

This bar can be filled a second time; your ship is then said to be "overcharged". This is required for some abilities. Overcharge can be seen on any ship as a halo of arcing lightning around any ship, stealthed or not. Energy will not regerate in overcharge without an overcharge converter. If the second bar fills completely for any reason other than you using an ability, the ship overloads.

Overload causes the ship to become disabled. Additionally, the ship takes some Hull damage.

Your energy capacity, regeneration etc. can all be changed in the Power Hub Node.
